Origins

In 2022, Holy Coyote Studios was founded by Diego Joaquin Campos (me). Before this iteration of the studio, many different names were thrown around. The one which stuck around the longest was Campos Studios. However, this seemed too simple and somewhat crass. The name of the Studio needed something more.

Holy Coyote was chosen for one purpose; to be the patron of those seeking a promised land. Not a world of riches, but a place of love and artistic authenticity. Named after St. Toribio Romo, the patron saint of immigrants, our mission is to lead a movement of radical authenticity.

From a young age, I created stories in my head. After hijacking my dad's JVC camcorder, I started shooting my first video clips. Soon after, I learned how to edit in Windows Movie Maker. I understood at the age of seven my passion. I loved moving images and the accompanying music. Often, I would imagine a made-up music score in my head as I went about my day. Ultimately, this created a dramatic, romantic view of the world, which has aided in my love for crafting narratives from life.

From these simple roots, I have discovered a passion and purpose.

In time, we will grow. With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence, many are questioning what it means to be authentically human. Many are willing to resign their humanity to a series of switches. According to St. Aquinas, our will is of higher power than intellect. Have you resigned your will? Or your intellect?

Embrace the authenticity of your human soul.

D. Joaquin Campos
